Strangozzi pasta is long and has a square or rectangular cross-section. It is typical of the Spoleto area but is also found throughout Umbria, Marche and Lazio. Depending on the area, Strangozzi pasta is also called stringozzi, strengozzi, strengozze, strozzapreti, strangozzo or ciriole, as in the in Terni area. Its appearance is very similar to that of tagliolini pasta, but unlike this, strangozzi pasta does not contain any egg.
